For me, my best JDate move was NOT waiting for a guy to show interest in me. I was the one that made the first "move" and emailed Jayson, who happened to live in the same city (Stamford, CT) as me.

One of the things Jayson liked best about me was my profile picture. Instead of going with the usual basic headshots, my profile pic was me, posing with my aunt's pet tortoise. Who knew that Jayson was such an animal lover? It sparked an instant connection and we definitely had something to talk about on our first date. I liked the easy-going, conversational way Jayson wrote in his profile - I felt like I was speaking directly to him, which made me feel comfortable reaching out to him.
