Being in a relationship can run the gamut from being fulfilling to frustrating. The problem is that it can change from one to the other in the short span of a few minutes or seconds. Many women find themselves involved with a great guy who has one major shortcoming. He can’t seem to pick up the phone to call. If you’re with a man like this and he says he’ll call but doesn’t, what should you do?
If he says he’ll call but doesn’t a woman’s natural instinct is to call him herself. Most of us have been guilty of doing this at some point in our relationship. Typically we’ll do it a few hours after the time he promised to call. By then we’ve been stewing in frustration for awhile and are just about ready to explode. If you’ve done this you know it never ends well. You either accuse him of not caring or you get angry with him for neglecting you. Either way he tells you it’s no big deal and you end up being the one who feels badly about the situation. It doesn’t have to be this way. If your guy doesn’t call when he promises he will, don’t call him.
The main reason you don’t want to call him is that makes you appear desperate. The phone call was obviously not important enough for him to make the effort, so you shouldn’t either. Most men don’t call for one main reason and that’s because they know the woman they are involved with will call. Most couples set this pattern fairly early in their relationship and it ends up being a point of irritation for the woman later on. Don’t call him if he hasn’t called you. Just forget about the call and do something you enjoy. Sooner or later he’ll call. Chances are good that it will be sooner rather than later and he’ll be on his best behavior because he’ll realize you didn’t make the effort this time. If you can muster up the willpower to do each and every time he doesn’t call, he’ll be calling you on a regular basis.
